“How might your life have been different if there had been a place for you, a place for you to go to be with your mother, sisters, aunties, and grandmothers, a place of women to go, to be and return to as woman? How might you life be different/” Judith Duerk, Circles of Stone
How might your life be different if there had been a place for you, a place for you to go to heal your wounds, learn the power of you blood, firmly challenged to spread your wings, lovingly nurtured, encouraged to explore the ancient ways of women, connect with yours sisters, supported while you face your shadows, awaken your innate goddess and at last be welcomed in a community that accepts your full expression.
How might you move differently in the world, what confidence would grow and overflow, how might your voice make a difference in the world if only there had been a place for you to open and accept your wildness and sisters encouraging you and holding you?
I remember when my first initiation ended. It was when I sat in a women’s purification lodge for the first time, faced my deepest shadows of inadequacy, accepted my calling and then was welcomed by my sisters, mothers and grandmothers. My life has never quite been the same, since that day 20 years ago. It has been since that day, I have known the healing power of community and more specifically the healing power of sisters.
In days long gone and cultures around the globe, initiations and women’s circles are a way of life, intended to introduce inspiring knowledge that make an emotional or psychic impression upon the consciousness, as well as to add knowledge and wisdom to the initiate. In our modern day we do not always have formal initiatory ceremonies to mark the beginning or ending of our life initiations.
Often, we are left wandering feeling incomplete and purposefulness because; 1. we do not feel understood or connected to our kin family 2. our journey’s have not been not been formally validated as being treacherous and arduous 3. we have not been encouraged by our elders and mentors to uncover our true gifts for the world and lastly we have not been embraced by our community unconditionally.
As with all things there is a shadow side of formal initiatory experiences, that seeks to control and have power over. In those instances it is not about personal sovereignty but only to instill fear for further suppression.
I feel when kept in the context of inspiration, support, wisdom and growth, formal initiatory experiences in our modern day seek to support those moving through the natural cycles of life and provide opportunities for continued elevation into new loving paradigms.
I have been dreaming of creating some sort of initiation program since the early days of my spiritual awakening, some 28 years ago, to then experience the beauty of a sister circle which was the catalyst to end my wanderings was icing on the cake. I have often wondered how this program was going to be created.
I woke up a couple weeks ago and I fully came to realize the Sacred Healers Program is a women’s initiation program. There simply is no other word for it. Through this program women are remembering their true purpose, awakening their alchemist and uncovering their Goddess selves. Their journey is arduous and they are being validated and supported the entire way. It is through the love, laughter, tears and pain that women are opening and seeing their lives transform before them. This is the program that I have dreamed of and it is changing the world.
A few thoughts on our Sacred Healers Women’s Initiation Program
If you think Initiation is easy and looking for a serine program packed with information and fun rituals, this program is NOT for you. The Sacred Healers Women’s Initiation is intense and beautiful as each woman peels back the layers of her life to find her way. It is through our laughter, love, tears and pain that our greatest adventures unfold. Our Sacred Healers program is for those women who are called to the spiritual healing arts as a way of life. Whether the medicine way takes you to a national level or you find yourself in your prayer closet quietly at home, you are worthy and we need you.
If this program sounds like a Yes, reach out and let’s have a chat. I have started eligibility interviews. Our program restarts with 11 women from September 2018 to August 2019. Each initiate is carefully screened for appropriateness and if accepted will join our sister circle. The program in its details can be found here.
